Friends of Clatsop County Community Gardens
The Friends of Clatsop County Community Gardens (FCCCG) endeavors to develop community through sustainable
gardening. We promote multi-generational and cross-cultural participation to
produce local, nutritious food and a healthy environment. We strive to assure
food security for the entire community through education and donations to area
food banks.
The volunteers of The Friends of Clatsop County Community Gardens have been very busy in helping residents of Astoria, Warrenton, Hammond and Seaside improve their neighborhoods through community gardening.
Garden Plots
Plot sizes vary and the suggested donations for each plot range from $20 to $40 per year which include water, access to community tools and a plot that's ready to be planted! Some "enabling beds" are available for the wheelchair bound. Thanks to generous donations, scholarships are available to those who qualify. Contact the manager at the garden you're interested in for more information.
Never Gardened?
That's ok! One of the greatest benefits of community gardening is learning from other gardeners.
We have a range of experience in the gardens and many resources to help people who are just getting started.
Experienced gardeners are usually quite glad to share their knowledge and skills with gardening novices. Flatter experienced gardeners with your questions!

How are the gardens run?
Community Gardens are about growing healthy food and building community amongst people with diverse backgrounds.
Each garden has its own unique flavor and culture; strict uniformity of operation between all gardens is not our objective. It is expected that the individual gardens will serve the needs and culture of the community surrounding them.
If there are problems, the Board Members of Friends of Clatsop County Community Gardens are interested in having those problems resolved in a friendly, courteous and respectful fashion. You may not understand all of the factors that go into your Garden manager's decisions on how to operate the garden. Please respect the job that they do and remember that there is NO PAID STAFF at our gardens, everything is done by volunteers, who deserve your thanks and appreciation.
Some people may find this to be an uncomfortable environment. If this is true for you, we encourage you to explore other opportunities for gardening.
